Amazon's Leo satellite internet launches mid-2026
The Verge·
Amazon's satellite internet service, Leo, formerly Project Kuiper, is now slated for a mid-2026 commercial launch. This follows an earlier enterprise preview expected by the end of 2025. Unlike SpaceX's Starlink, Amazon relies on launch partners, including SpaceX itself, for satellite deployment. This strategy will continue until Amazon's own New Glenn rocket becomes operational. The company has secured FCC approval for its ambitious satellite constellation, aiming to compete directly with existing low-Earth orbit internet providers and expand global connectivity.
