Appeals court upholds FTX founder's fraud conviction
The Block·
Sam Bankman-Fried's attempt to secure a new trial has been definitively rejected. The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit upheld the original district court's verdict, which found the former FTX CEO guilty on seven counts of fraud and conspiracy. Bankman-Fried's arguments, including claims of sound customer investments and sufficient liquidity, were dismissed by the appellate judges. The court also rejected his assertion that he was unfairly prevented from presenting certain evidence during his initial trial, solidifying his conviction.
