California defeats Tesla's lawsuit attempt
Ars Technica·
A California judge has denied Tesla's motion to dismiss a racial discrimination lawsuit filed by the state's Civil Rights Department. The lawsuit, which alleges widespread discrimination and harassment at Tesla's Fremont factory, can now proceed to trial, currently scheduled for July. The department claims Black workers faced racial slurs, pay inequality, and retaliatory actions. Tesla's attempt to have the case thrown out was based on its policies and training, but the judge found insufficient undisputed evidence to dismiss the claims, allowing the case to move forward and potentially hold Tesla accountable for its employment practices.
