Google adds AI Overviews to Gmail for work

Google is integrating its AI Overviews feature into Gmail for business users, a move announced at the Google Cloud Next conference. This enhancement allows employees to ask natural language questions directly within Gmail and receive concise answers synthesized from multiple emails and conversations. The feature aims to streamline information retrieval for work-related topics such as project updates, invoices, and performance discussions, eliminating the need to manually sift through numerous messages. AI Overviews will be enabled by default for organizations with Gemini for Workspace and Workspace Intelligence activated, extending its availability to various business, enterprise, and education plans.
