Honda shifts hybrid focus, delays EV goals
The Verge·
Honda has unveiled prototypes for its next-generation Accord sedan and Acura RDX SUV, both featuring an updated hybrid system set for launch next year. This strategic pivot comes as the company revises its long-term electrification targets. Honda is now abandoning its previous goal of achieving 20% of sales from EVs by 2030 and 100% from EVs and fuel cell vehicles by 2040. Instead, the automaker will reallocate resources towards developing and producing more hybrid models, signaling a significant shift in its future product strategy.
