Iranian hackers breach FBI director's email
TechCrunch·
An Iranian government-backed hacking group, Handala, claims to have breached the personal email account of FBI director Kash Patel. The group released images and a cache of files purportedly from Patel's Gmail account, which TechCrunch partially verified using email header information. This incident follows a series of escalating cyberattacks by Iran-linked groups since the conflict in the Middle East began, including a significant attack on medical tech company Stryker. The FBI and Justice Department have not yet officially commented on the breach, though a Justice Department official reportedly confirmed it to Reuters.
