Pixi app turns text messages into interactive AR experiences

Pixi has launched a new iOS app that transforms text messages into interactive augmented reality (AR) experiences, moving beyond traditional stickers and GIFs. The app allows users to send AI-powered AR characters through iMessage that animate and interact with the recipient's surroundings via their iPhone camera. Combining AR with on-device AI, these characters can react to real-world events and even emotional cues, aiming to add a greater sense of presence to digital conversations. Pixi plans to expand with a character marketplace and eventually enable user-generated content.
