US Customs Begins Processing Tariff Refunds

U.S. Customs and Border Protection has initiated the first phase of processing tariff refunds for importers, totaling an estimated $127 billion. Importers and customs brokers can now submit their Consolidated Administration and Processing of Entries (CAPE) Declarations through their Automated Commercial Environment Secure Data Portal (ACE Portal) accounts. This move is expected to provide significant financial relief to businesses that have overpaid duties. The system's launch marks a crucial step in streamlining the refund process and improving cash flow for the import industry.
