Amazon Acquires Kid-Size Humanoid Robot Startup
TechCrunch·
Amazon has acquired Fauna Robotics, a startup founded by former Meta and Google engineers specializing in kid-size humanoid robots. The acquisition aims to integrate Fauna's vision for capable, safe, and fun robots into Amazon's extensive robotics expertise and customer trust built through its retail and devices businesses. Fauna's employees, including its founders, will join Amazon in New York City. This marks Amazon's second robotics acquisition this month, following the recent purchase of autonomous robotics startup Rivr, known for its stair-climbing delivery robot. The terms of both deals remain undisclosed.
